Congregational Care
And they said, “Lord, when did we see you hungry, thirsty, or sick or a stranger, or
in prison or naked and cared for you?”

And the King replied, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these
brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

An integral blessing of being part of the body of Christ is trusting that you have a
community of faith to support you with prayer, visits, calls, meals, transportation and
other services when you are going through a difficult time.

It is often through simple acts of kindness that we experience the love and grace of
God. These programs support our members in all phases of their lives during times of
illness, grief, joy or difficult times no matter what they are.

Due to Federal Privacy laws, hospitals and nursing homes do not contact the church when
members are admitted.  To inform us of a hospitalization, call the church office at 704-847-
0864.  If it is after hours, please leave a message in the general mail box.  In an emergency after
church office hours, call Pastor Steve at 704-302-7383.

Member Support
Few, if any, of us get through life’s twists and turns without help from others. From
time to time we all need a little help and support, whether it’s a meal, special prayer,
visit or transportation.

Visitation
Pastor Steve visits members who are ill or homebound.

Care Teams
A care team consists of six church members who provide assistance to an individual
or family needing long-term help with daily living due to a prolonged illness or
physical or mental disability. All information about individuals is kept confidential by
all members of the care team. If you are in need of a care team, please contact
Pastoral Care.

Prayer Chain
The prayer chain is a vital ministry at MorningStar Presbyterian Church that seeks
to provide care and support to church members going through various difficulties and
to rejoice with those who have joys to share.

In order to make a prayer request, please call or email Patti Woodall.  If you are
making a request on behalf of someone else, please ask their permission first.
