5 Cents A Meal
The last Sunday of each month is reserved to receive our 5 Cents A
Meal offering which is distributed to various agencies that fight
hunger within the bounds of the Charlotte Presbytery.

Peacemaking Offering
Peacemaking Offering supports the efforts of Presbyterians to work
for justice and peace through the local MorningStar congregation,
presbyteries, synods and the General Assembly.  25% of the offering
is used to promote peace and justice locally.  Through this offering,
MorningStar has reached out to the Grandfather Home for Children,
the police department's God and Gangs project, and the USO.

One Great Hour of Sharing
The One Great Hour of Sharing offering supports the PCUSA
Hunger, Disaster Assistance, and Self Development of People.  Funds
from this offering undergird major Presbyterian relief efforts such as
the on-going rebuilding of the Gulf Coast communities and churches
after hurricane Katrina and now the earthquake in Haiti.

Christmas Joy
Christmas Joy Offering supports church workers who have
insufficient funds for retirement after a lifetime of service and
Presbyterian racial ethnic colleges and schools.

Urban Ministry Center Missions

Room In the Inn
Room in the Inn is an interfaith organization (through Urban
Ministry) that provides homeless people - our neighbors- with a
warm, safe place to sleep, along with dinner, breakfast and a bag
lunch during the winter months. The simple goal is to keep homeless
people from freezing on cold winter nights. We partner with Joy
Christian Church on Monday nights December through March.

Samaritan House
Samaritan House provides care for the homeless when they are
discharged from the hospital. They provide an alternative "haven"
when the other choices are the streets, woods or highway underpass.
We prepare and serve lunch to the guests on the first Sunday of each
month.
